Membership applications are welcomed from security personnel who wish to be respected and recognized by their community as professionals.

Members who are considering continuous professional development, whether you are a security officer wishing to climb up the ladder or a manager who needs to learn new skills, Nigerian Institute for Industrial Security will provide the necessary tools to fulfil your aim.

Our membership is diverse and cuts cross-sector engagement such as:

  • Providers of Security goods and Guarding services.
  • Corporate security Supervisors, Managers and Directors.
  • Security Managers in the public sector.
  • Individuals currently serving in the Civil Service, the Police and the Armed Forces.
  • Providers of Security education including Trainers and Academics.
  • Security Consultants.

We also welcome those aspiring to reach management positions, through study and/or personal development, and individuals whose core business is closely aligned to that of a security practitioner.

Each application is reviewed by a committee and offered the qualifying membership grade. Higher grades can be achieved over time, through professional development and our continuous development program.

MEMBERSHIP REQUIREMENTS

Student Member (SNIIS)

  • Undergraduates in the University/Polytechnics interested in pursuing a career in Industrial Security industry.
  • Submit evidence of being a student.

Application fee: N5,000

Renewal Fee:N5,000

Associate Member (ANIIS)

  • A practicing security and/or safety professional minimum of 2 years working experience.
  • Professional who is yet to undergo the Certified Security Specialist Course.(CSS)

Application Fee: 50,000

Renewal Fee: 15,000

Member (MNIIS)

  • Graduates of Nigerian Institute for Industrial Security that has earned the CSS certification (Certified Security Specialist Course) which runs Every Saturday for four months in a Batch.
  • To be eligible for this category, you would pass through the CSS certification, after the four months training, you would be awarded the Member category automatically.

Application Fee: 135,000

Online attendance: 150,000

Renewal fee: 15,000

Fellow (FNIIS)

This application depends on the approval of the management if you meet the criteria.

Criteria:

  •  A senior member of NIIS for at least 5 years. (Applicable to NIIS Members only)
  • A practicing security professional with minimum of 15 years experience.
  • Referral from at least 1 Fellow of NIIS.

Application Fee: 150,000

Renewal Fee: 30,000

Life Fellow (LFNIIS)

The life fellow award is given to those nominated by the board for their outstanding achievements in the Security profession, has rendered notable contribution to the advancement of the profession, public service or in any other way deemed worthy of the honor.

  • Can consult NIIS to implement personal projects.

  • Discounted rates for our continuous development programs.

  • You would be added to NIIS Membership Whatsapp/ Telegram platforms, which would afford you the opportunity to connect & network among other members and security professionals, exchange ideas & information, expand your circle of colleagues & contact, and get the latest updates about NIIS Activities.
  • Confirming your status, you can use the post-nominal letters according to your grade level after your name. (e.g.: SNIIS, ANIIS,MNIIS, FNIIS, LFNIIS)
  • Membership Certificates can be used for professional upliftments such as; promotions, getting good jobs etc.
